Daniel has asthma, no one is allowed to smoke near for this reason, and also because he says it can hurt his vocals. Daniel has many guitars, including at least 24 vintage guitars. On Neon Ballroom he used many of these vintage guitars, such as his '60's Fenders. On the first two albums he used mainly Gibson SG's and Paul Reed Smith's. Daniel hates the way some people act a certain way to impress other people. That's why he likes his producer (Nick Launey) so much, he lets the band be themselves. Dan needs to relate to all of his songs-in other words you'll never see any sell-out material from silverchair. Daniel had strange phobias, such as fears for telephones and cereal. He thought the cereal would shred his insides, and he would run away from ringing telephones in fear that it was for him. Apparently he has recovered from these phobias. Daniel is a vegan, this means he does not use/eat/consume any animal products. He used to have 2 eyebrow rings but had them removed because they got in his hair. Daniel really likes to to sleep. If he could have any super power if would be to be able to sleep where ever he wants. When he wakes up he likes drawing and watching TV. He likes to watch South Park. During concerts, Daniel throws guitars picks into the crowd that say "Stolen From Daniel". Daniel is very talented, he can spit high in the air and catch it in his mouth, he can also play the drums, and used to play the trumpet in the school band. Besides being talented he is also kinda strange, he once took his microphone, dipped it in beer and put it in his mouth. Daniel had a little trouble with the law when touring with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He was testing driving a car, he saw a beach and "it looked inviting, so I (he) drove on it". He had to go to the police station, "the police man looked at me and made me scared". He didn't have to spend any time in jail. Daniel didn't lose his license, and drives his "poo brown" XP 66 Ford.
